RE:Copper ceiling lookSome speculation. Let's b generous and say that warehouses and factories have 1 million tons to use up.
Now let's be realistic. Let's b conservative and say over the next year we use 10 thousand tons more than produced per day. In 3 months we have 0 to draw from. Who will have to quit buying. Those that have not secured contracts for premium over spot price.
Those ones will have to throw spot bids on at higher than premium, driving spot up. It is inevitable that some will have to quit. Half the feedlots in NA are empty. Price can not quickly fix supply in either beef or copper.
People can choose to eat cheaper meat. There are few alternatives to copper.
