mine expansion

So freeport is going to expand there 3xisting u.s. mines to meet biden plans for electrification. Cmmc just announced expansion plans.

So I am certain that flor will come in much bigger than 85 mill pounds and that gib will expand. Let guess 50% bigger at both mines. Now u have the equiv. of 2 new florences with ymi and np sitting in the wings.

More popcorn please:))

I don't know about mining however It used to be common in the Gypsum business to announce these huge new plants & major expansions of existing facilities in order to discourage competition from pushing you out with a lower cost product, most of it was smoke and mirrors 90% of which never came into fruition and those that did took years longer to produce then what was originally claimed,,.& ...more

Just a headfake. Same with all the boats of cu heading to China, massive headfake, there is a supply shortage. KW

Exactly, even if there are extra boats, they didn't mine them, they pulled them of a stockpile somewhere,. It wont change the overall supply demand equation one bit,,.  Takes years to mine extra boats of ore, not days,,!!

Huge expansion news at ncu. Everyone is anouncing. When ramped they say the main shaft will lift more than mill max. So the mill will likely b expanded. The permitted open pit plan is likely going to double in size on initial build. They expanded there yerrington land holdings again. They r planning a drill program of massive proportions. There is no way florence will only b 85 million project. ...more

Yeah, have to believe that Flor JV suitors are beating on the door wanting in.  If a JV buys 10% of Flor for $80 million, that has to have a huge impact on SP.  It puts the Flor value alone at double the present market cap. I think they will get the $80 million,  the question is what percentage of the company it will draw.  That is probably the discussion going on right now ...more

NF, what is the history with NCU?  Why were they trading at $6 in 2011 and $.15 now (USD)?  What caused the huge decline?
Comment by nofluff on Mar 01, 2021 12:59pm
Good ncu q jc. 6.00 was just a start point on corp start up. Few shares out at that time. They needed to raise drilling funds and did so by pps. So as shares increased prices droped. They leveled at a dollar. Pala and streamers and bankers were not huge concerned. They were eros and wanted large secure supply for there green projects. They planned a tiny project that they planned to ramp up with ...more

...and would a size increase for Flo delay permitting??
Comment by JoeStockIQ on Feb 27, 2021 5:21pm
It shouldn't as they can simply start the initial construction and prepare while waiting. Plenty to work on while waiting and not a heavy lift to expand when given the green light.
Comment by BlueBee on Feb 27, 2021 5:24pm
Would an expanssion decrease the life of the mine?
Comment by nofluff on Feb 27, 2021 5:32pm
No bb. The copper just keeps growing:)) nf
Comment by 2024golden on Feb 28, 2021 8:33am
Not really talking about construction. The state permit we have and the Fed permit we are waiting on are based on the original design size....would we need to be re-permitted for a scale up in size?
Comment by JoeStockIQ on Feb 28, 2021 11:21am
And your answer remains no.
Comment by JCSunsfan on Feb 28, 2021 2:18pm
Joe is correct.  There is an amendment process for existing permits that seems pretty streamlined.  You can actually go to the EPA site and look up this permit and seen the changes made so far.  I think the last one was an application to use reclaimed water for rinsing. Expanding the size would be an amendment.  I am not even sure how specific the present permit is regarding ...more
