Looking at the Trading activity, looks like the market maker

is letting all his buddies in below $60, this thing could take off big time after all are in and fully loaded...

Yes, I was thinking the same. TSX is up 1.5%, Oil is up 4.1%, ng is up even at +2.2%, a big dividend is ripe,  and Tourmaline is actually down from yesterday. Have we got a dose of shorters visiting us? I guess the market at times doesn't make sense.

Well, with volume already 4 times the daily average, something was holding back price action earlier but beginning to pick up a bit now. Hopefully through to the close! GLTA

There is certainly a concerted effort to hold the stock back. It has significantly underperformed all other Canadian natgas stocks today barely finishing in positive territory. With a relatively large SD available to those who have the stock before the 10th (record date being the 11th] that leaves next Monday and Tuesday as the only available days for new investors to get in on the SD. I do not prescribe to conspiracy theories, there is no concerted effort to hold the price down, it's buyers vrs sellers . you have to remember, the price for nat gas is in the toilet. In the past it was not . after the x date the share price will go down by the spec divided amount more or less . Options prices will do the same .

Totally disagree Checkmate, Tou is definitely being held down by shorters/hedge funds working together to drive the price down. They have been successful the past several months, but long term Tou will recover and reward their loyal shareholders. Unlike most large cap oil and NG companies Tou has a relatively small share float/outstanding shares and basically no debt so let's hope those ...more

Not short, never play that game with any stock. Mind you I have bought puts on Tsla. as for ownership, I do own, only 500 shares now as I reduced my holdings as the price of ng retreated . shorts have to pay the special dividend out if they are short and end up with shares that will retreat by the same. A double whammy . Not a game I would suggest for anyone including hedge funds

I also write oom calls on my tou holdings and have never been called in over 18 months of doing so.
Comment by CriticalMind55 on May 08, 2023 10:39am
So if you are writing calls, you woudl want them to expire out of the money to rinse and repeat so, you do want TOU lower on options expiry dates, hence your angle...negative posts.

Thank you Critical Mind. Good comment and educational for me as I am not knowledgeable in writing calls.
