Reviving KXL ProjectHi all!
As a TRP shareholder, I have watched with interest in recent days as various parties in the USA and Canada talk up their dream of reviving the KXL project.
TRP has done exactly the right thing by stating unequivocally that the project is dead as far as they are concerned.
Their next steps should be:
- to state that the KXL Canada component is complete (as it is) up to the border crossing point;
- that x% of the work on the US side has been completed and y% of the pipe is sitting in nearby storage sites to complete the US route;
- that IF the US of A really, really wants to complete the project on the US side and rely on safe, clean, equitable Canadian oil instead of dirty oil from Saudi Arabia and/or Venezuela, then (taking a page out of the Kinder Morgan deal with the Lie-berals in Canada),
- the US of A can buy all completed works and ready-to-go materials on the US side (for a very hefty premium to be determined by TRP), and
- the US of A can pay for all of the remaining work and political buy-offs to complete the work on the US side.
- Then the US of A can pay TRP (at a hefty premium price) for the priviledge of joining the TRP pipeline at the international border, and
- then pay TRP (at a hefty premium) to manage the completed US side of the KXL network for the US government in perpetuity.
Sound like a sweet deal for TRP? A win for TRP, a win for Alberta (and Canada), and a win for Canadian citizens all round.
Who loses? The American taxpayer/public .... the price they must pay for electing Barack Osama, Sleepy Joe, Camel the Harris, AOC and all of the other eco nuts. Put 'em over the (oil) barrel, pull down their drawers, and give 'em a good spanking!
Cheers!
