He also said the Bioniche is working on Econiche 2, an improved product that is even cheaper to produce. Conspiracy Theory in me thinks the US is trying to get the US vaccine competitor just starting out some time to catch up. We take 5 years to get a license they might take a year. Just the way the Us works I guess.
It is too early to call the demise of Econiche. The stuff works. The market may yet be created by the US. Proposed regulations have suggested adding the % clause whereby they set a target for Ecoli shedding per feedlot in order to be able to sell into the food chain. Say you set it for 30%, how is the easiest way to meet the target? Vaccine. Then they start lowering the target on an annual basis, creating a larger and larger market for us, and cleaning up the food chain in an orderly manner.
If this becomes the law, and happens sooner rather than later, Econiche will be a cash cow,
