RE: Has anyone else tried the math?...Pfizer's estimate. Did some additional fact checking as the 6 million cases of canine cancer in U.S. that I sourced for previous post seemed high.
Here is Pfizer's estimate for just the U.S. market (from a 2009 press release):
Pfizer Animal Health estimates 1.2 million new canine cancer cases are reported in the U.S. every year.
So with same assumptions:
1,200,000 new canine cancer cases in U.S. x 1% potential market penetration rate = 12,000 cases x $1,000 per dog = $12,000,000 of potential revenue just from the U.S. market.
The market/revenue opportunity is still impre$$ive!!
