For the same reason, Ottawa will never come out with a mandate that can have the potential of killing the beef export to U.S.
Other parts of the world? Who knows how long it will take again to get the approval? Then you still have to fight through the cost issues. It's a long haul ahead.
The VMC will be a big cash drain. Especially after it is validated and fully commisioned,we shall have a loan payback started with no demand in sight.
I am sure the USDA does see the merit of Econiche. But for their variuos agendas, they will not approve it as long as it is Canadian. BNC should better find a major U.S partner, or better still, sell off Econiche and the VMC to a U.S. player with a clause of residual royalty, let them run with it . This pipe-dream has cost us enough.
Graeme had a big dream. But he does not know the USDA-FDA politics. I commited the same sin. Invested heavily on the news of Econiche and Urocidin based on my naive belief that something so good would be appreciated and approved quickly by the USDA/FDA. Now I am staring at a loss of $200000+. I don't want to engage in the blame game. But it is time to recognize one's mistakes and limit the damage.
