Investment advisers Cowen & Co. calculate that if just a few of the medicines in clinical trials pan out, U.S. demand for Alzheimer's drugs could reach $10 billion to $15 billion annually, up from about $1.3 billion now. Theres what....... 4.5 or 5 million Alzheimers sufferers in the US. Theres an estimated 20- 30 million with MCI in the US. The hope of every drug developer out there is that a successful Alzheimer's treatment may be able to prevent the disease from occurring in MCI patients.
