It is because of this very lack of validated Biomarkers in "Early Alzheimers" MCI that I'm thinking that a Symptomatic Label will be persued by ELAN and Transition with their Phasell in MCI slated to start sometime This Year. At this time in Alzheimers Drug Development history that may be the only Label that ANY Company can get for MCI. Look for an 18 to 24 WEEK Phasell Trial in the 300 Patient range. Not the longer 72 week Trial required by the FDA & EMEA for Disease Modifying Labelling.
They are currently deciding on the Tests for screening of applicants for that Trial. There are promising ones out there like Cambridges PAL (Paired Associates Learning) and SRM (Spatial Recognition Memory) and of course ApoE4 Carriers.
