I can't comment on whether their price target is accurate, nor whether their assessment is. The purpose of my response to mikey, though, was to indicate that there does not necessarily need to be a relationship between the target price and the rating. The target price is based on fundamentals - they use various tools to establish the value of the company, and then they use a multiplier to establish their target future value. The target rating, however, is based on their opinion of the stock relative to how the market is doing.
That means it is not unreasonable for them to give a sell rating to a stock, despite having a target price which is higher than the current price - especially when share prices are moving so rapidly every day.
