RE:RE:RE:RE:Hmmmmmm let it be trueI know the feeling, I've been in the uranium sector holding positions for the last decade with every year being the year things would take off but never did. However, I also believe the uranium sector is very close to finally moving.
It's so hard to predict where things will go considering the current conditions around the World and also with a US election occuring in November around what is typically the worst time for the stock market.
I dumped most of my shares in uranium stocks last summer around the time Trump announced that he wasn't going to implement a quota and require US utlities to buy a certain percentage of uranium from American uranium producers. For a President who loves to hug the flag and constantly talk about producing and buying American products he sure failed with uranium. Especially when you realiize that of all the metals he was putting tarriffs in an attempt to protect those industries by stating his reason as national security under section 232, uranium is by far at the highest risk to US national security.
At the time the Russian government backed the lobby groups for the utlities against section 232 and leading up to the announcement last year Trump had a meeting with Putin. So I wasn't completely surprised when things fell apart, but I should have been better prepared, as it's clear to everyone, but his zombie supporters that Russian has something on Trump or has some business with Russia he wants to see completed. Trump continually sides in favor of Russia while at the same time telling his supporters that he's tougher on Russian then anyone. The way I see it, as long as Trump is in office he's not going to do much for the uranium sector, it would be counterproductive to what Russia wants.
And over the last decade while the US did nothing to prop up an industry that was declining and considered a major interest of national security, Russian took control of nearly every aspect of the nuclear industry; from mining, to conversion and enrichment to fabrication and the building of Nuclear reactors. It really is a shame, because there really is no way for the US to regain what was lost. The environmentalists sure haven't helped the cause either. Too much negative stigma around nuclear, yet it is really the only true alternative to helping solve the global warming issue.
Investing in uranium is definitely one of those love-hate relationships.
