Rally Yesterday in Support of Legal Union and Company The majority of the people are clearly on the company’s and their lawful union’s side, the El Front union.
Yasser Beltrn, and his criminal clowns, were not present, of course, at the rally - too cowardly. As they are not supported they probably would have been ran out of town! The arrogance of Yasser Beltrn, denying the community of Cosala the right to work so long, is plain to see.
It’s great to see the CEO of USAS has a backbone and is it sticking with his original decision of halting operations until safety, contractual conditions and the law are adhered to.
All the community wants is for the rule of law to be upheld so they can get back to work too. In the meantime, their union is giving the workers some finacial support; however, the broader community wants the mine reopened because the whole community benefits from the mine - even those outside of direct employment.
It’s great to see community support of the company, their rightful union and the San Rafael mine!
But I knew of this support almost a year ago. There are some very influential and determined Mexican shareholders, too, of USAS and are also putting the pressure on the Mexican federal government to step in and stop the criminals. It is only a matter of time; the countdown is on!
