RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Nat Bk Financial $14 There are recent studies that showthat EV's up to a certain mileage cause more CHG's than ICE vehicles. On a life cycle basis though they are an improvement.I am definetly with the environmentalists, I just believe that they need to do more listening and less shouting. I wont go into it, but there are many very reasonable solutions that are much less costly than what is proposed. They start with displacing thermal coal and methane leakage (not only from petroleum but from many other agricultural sources) As always the best cure for any problem is leadership backed by knowledge and experience. It is the leadership that is seriously missing!!

I believe that in todays environment, it will be very unlikely that renewables will be able to grow anywhere near fast enough to displace both reduced coal consumption and depleting petroleum production. The lead times for investments and the efficacy of those investments will simply not be enough. for instance CCS schemes may remove CO2 but they use energy rather than provide it. Hydrogen and ammonia schemes are very costly, they require high energy inputs and are very lengthy to implement. Other schemes lack reliability thereby requiring substantial other investments for storage and transmission.
Increasing pressure to not invest in petroleum will also mean dwindling petroleum supplies.
This leaves the petroleum industry in an increasing profitability situation. First debt will be greatly reduced then cash will be distibuted to share holders as buybacks or dividends or both.
We will no longer require bankers to tell us what our shares are worth, we will only need to look at our bank statements to see how much cash is rolling in or how much our shares have appreciated in value.
I believe all this is coming and that it is no longer very far away !!
GREAT POST !!! {Should take awhile fo EV to replace ICE as well. GOOD LUCK !!
