All in all

I'm happy with today's numbers.. although I think they could have added a bit to the divi as well.. nice bump this AM but the shorters came in and with crude gains shrinking we have this pull back.. VET should have better hedges in 2023, although I'm not exactly sure what they are, but if anyone has the breakdown I'd be interested in knowing that.. TIA

Never mind.. I answered my own question.. didn't get far enough through the PR before posting.. LOL.. Commodity Hedging Vermilion hedges to manage commodity price exposures and increase the stability of our cash flows. In aggregate, as of March 8, 2023, we have 15% of our expected net-of-royalty production hedged for the remainder of 2023. With respect to individual commodity products, we ...more

I admit to being a dunce when it comes to analysing statements, but I thought the numbers were fine. I think they are gun-shy with the dividends given that when they had to reduce them they were pilloried and I don't think the ill effect has completely disappeared. Fool me once etc.    But the debt is now equivalent to the net profit so how bad can thatt be! It's going to be ...more

They blew away expectations on FCF, but the stock is only up 3 cents. They were very weasely on their return to shareholdes statement. saying UP TO 25% also no mention of the 50% return to be triggered. This means it not important and they will likely not do it. The price is investor confidence draining away.

We did have a nice breakout in the AM to over $1.00 higher.. but the deteriorization of the crude price pretty much mirrored VET's decline today.. too many headlines these days playing with the markets IMO... gonna just have to wait it out.. hopefully some sanity returns soon.. but with the talking heads always pounding on the same "recesson" topic its no wonder the markets can't ...more

Either way its undervalued by about 60%. I'll take that along with the divy

Well VET is performing better than any of my other O&G stocks today.. and I agree with your take of 60% below fair value

After having poured over the financials several times , I am left wondering one very important item . What is the debt ? OTOH Vet seems to recognize a charge from the Irish even though no legislation had been enacted prior to year end , and thus accordingly the deductibility of prior years losses has not been settled. Furthermore what part relates to Ireland and what part to the rest of Europe ?  ...more
