RE:40-60% will be infected by coronavirus globally

RE:40-60% will be infected by coronavirus globallyConsidering how many people we have travelling to and from countries with the virus (especially Asian) and how low our infection count still is, I sleep very well at night. Your 40% number is nonsense.

WheresMeGold wrote: There are some estimating that 40-60% of all people globally will be infected over the next year. 40% of the 7.7 billion people on Earth with a 1% mortality rate is 30.8 million deaths. Current mortality rates for coronavirus is estimated higher at 2-5%, which equates to 61.6 million to 154 million deaths.

Hopefully these estimates are at least a few orders of magnitudes too high. However, it demonstrates that the coronavirus will have a huge impact on a human level and an economic level. Markets have not come to terms with this fully. Energy companies are particularly vulnerable.
