RE:RE:Why I won’t buy VET below $10 CAD tomorrow

RE:RE:Why I won’t buy VET below $10 CAD tomorrowYou’re exactly right bone. VET maintained an unsustainable dividend for years, putting the company in jeopardy. And if this message board is any indication, shareholders cheerleadered this destruction all the way down.

And the 50% dividend cut is still unsustainable. VET had the chance to do the right thing by cutting the dividend to a token amount or suspending it altogether. This move would have been a blow to its credibility for sure but so what, its credibility has been damaged for years. Cutting the dividend to a token amount or suspending it entirely actually would have started the process of rebuilding its credibility. That opportunity is now gone.

Why buy VET when the large caps like SU and CNQ will be on sale and won't go to zero? There is a world where oil stays below $30 for a year and VET has trouble with their $2B debt.
