RE:RE:RE:RE:Salary

RE:RE:RE:RE:SalaryImo most shareholders in all companies in general promote the worst in CEO’s. This message board has many posters who represent the foolish shareholders I’m talking about. The smart CEO’s have the personal integrity and intelligence to lead a company without taking the easy path and money that shareholders unfortunately encourage.

For instance, if I was CEO of VET I would have paid a sustainable, responsibile dividend and nothing more. I would have very heavily hedged oil and natural gas as far out as I could go when those prices would guarantee profitability. I would have constantly reminded everyone that the number # 1 goal of a business is to stay in business.

But most shareholders want big dividends even at the expense of the balance sheet. Most shareholders want energy companies to limit hedging to make a bigger play in potential higher energy prices. Most shareholders would not like my approach. However, shareholders of energy companies would have suffered a lot less loss with me as CEO. That’s a simple fact.

This is not hindsight with me. People on this board laughed at me for months when I was giving these warnings. It’s all very unfortunate. JMHO. GLTA.
