42% of recent layoffs will be permanentA report from the University of Chicago suggests 42% of the recent layoffs from COVID-19 will become permanent. I’d suggest the percentage will be higher the longer this continues and from a second wave that likely hits during the seasonal flu season that starts in the fall, if not sooner from the reopening of commerce.
Few industries will escape the pain from this, including technology. Energy will remain particularly vulnerable. Invest accordingly. JMHO. GLTA.
