I recently put a lot of posters on ignore because they were polluting every single board with their inane personal feuds. And I think that also partly answers your question. Stockhouse does two things with these new posts: it encourages on-topic discussion, and it creates content that I'm guessing improves its ranking on Google.

One simple single line question that has basically nothing to do with anything other than a bunch of SH added content on all the boards and I get an answer, that to me, makes no sense at all.

Some people just can't contain themselves -- it just spews out.(I guess that's an opening - oh well)  Enjoy the weekend.
