About 30 months ago it was 6(six cents Canadian} per kilowatt.
At the same time the rates Ontario customers paid an average of 11.4 cents per kW.
Hydro One, 51% of which the Government of Ontario owns) urges home owners to buy
power saving light bulbs and other GREEN DEVICES, and sells the excess power to our American cousins for 1/2 price.
Brilliant , don't you think? 
These are numbers I obtained while I did some work for the Energy Board.
