Oil is not the only commodity trading higher.

Oil is not the only commodity trading higher.

Natural gas futures in Europe were up more than 12% to approach €50 per megawatt-hour, the highest since April, following a 15% surge Monday, amid increasing supply concerns. Chevron was instructed by the Israeli government to shut production at the Tamar natural gas field on the country's northern coast, due to safety concerns as the conflict in the region intensifies. Also, Finland and Estonia observed on Sunday an unusual drop in pressure in the Balticconnector offshore gas pipeline between the countries due to a leak. This resulted in the shutdown of gas flow, and the repair work could take several months. At the same time, it was reported that workers at Chevron Corp.'s liquefied natural gas facilities in Australia were planning to resume strikes.
