RE:RE:VGCX - 2024 Q1 EPS Estimate & My EstimateI would agree with you Carzytimes, on all points as that's exactly what should happen, but I used their cost of gold sales price of $1508 CAD from Q1 2023 and so it may be a bit low considering inflation in 2023 but how much? 3%, 5%? So shouldn't be too far off.
Then there's the $9.6 million hit they took in Q1 2023 on the derivatives, which if I recall correctly was largely due to the $1400 US forward gold sales derivative that finally expired so that makes a big difference to the bottom line. From the May Presentation it looks like they paid down $9 million US on the Term Loan in Q1 so it's now down to $16 million US O/S. And Marty Rendall mentioned at the Annual Meeting that they will be paying it off by the end of Q3 (so 2 more payments left on that). So that $9 million US paid in Q1 will knock the EPS down on a diluted basis which maybe RBC accounted for in their estimates.
Anyway, I probably should have just waited for the results but thought it would be fun taking a stab at it.
