Victoria Gold: A Solid Buy-The-Dip Candidate

Think someone mentioned this SA article a few days ago but only posted exceprts.

Here's the link Victoria Gold: A Solid Buy-The-Dip Candidate (TSX:VGCX:CA) | Seeking Alpha  and if it opens properly you should be able to read all or at least most of it:

Not sure how many here are aware of or follow the Author Taylor Dart but this young guy does his homework and his thoughts are worth paying attention to.  He wrote an article that was quite bearish on VGCX and the share price fell shortly thereafter and since he's now turned bullish on this stock, albeit says next year will be much better, it's time to pay heed.

Today's lack of meaningful upward share price movement with a $30 move up in gold earlier this morning just shows and confirms that VG is in a 'Show Me Mode'.  As postive news develops, the share price will move up accordingly.  Unfortunately, it appears VG management believes it is appropriate to not report anything that's going on with Operations for over 30 days now.  This is mind boggling to me and defies logic.  No news about the Flow-Through Shares issuance, no news about the Raven update, no news about Q1 production numbers, no news about the upcoming Annual Shareholders meeting, etc, etc.  EARTH to VG Management, you have retail shareholders out here!    Apparently there's no news worth reporting or is there?   Hmmmm, looks like I may need to give JM a phone call, it's been awhile.

As I've said before, I'm not expecting this stock to move up meaningfully until at least the second half of this year until we get clarity on production numbers and EPS.

In the meantime, the short sellers and day traders will continue to bat this thing around grabbing the pennies were they can.

My opinion only, please DYODD.

So IF Taylor Dart is right about AISC in 2025 at ~ US $1,220 and a ~ US $2,200 gold price and the result being ~ US $120 million or ~ CAD $175 million in free cash flow, then VG is looking golden! (Pun intended) Taylor's projected cash flow of ~ US $50 million or ~ CAD $70 million in 2024 seems a bit low but I guess we'll see.  Hopefully no further hedging or forward sales were done ...more

2025 AISC at $1,220?!!!   Back up the truck, LOL Radio silence from VG management is looking ominous.  Last year they couldn't wait to tell the market about the great improvement in yr over yr production and issued a NR on April 5.  No such hurry this year.  It wouldn't be a surprise if 2024 is not as good as 2023. Also inconceivable that they would do a private ...more

So MVargas, how about we attend the upcoming virtual Annual Shareholder's Meeting on May 10 and ask them (on the record) how they believed that the issuing CAD $10.5 million of Flow-Through Shares was not considered to be a 'material' news worthy event. And while we're at it, how JM can justify getting a base salary of $625K a year and a nice bonus of $600K along with all the ...more

Sorry HB, but I don't have a dog in this fight as I don't own any shares - primarily because of management as further illustrated in your post. Btw, JM's base salary increased by $95,000 in January to $720,000.  Poor guy only hauled in $1.9 million in total compensation in 2023 - down from over $2 million in 2022.
Comment by HoneyBadger77 on Apr 09, 2024 3:23pm
Well that's too bad MVargas, thought you might still hold a few shares yet. And yes, I don't know how anyone could possibly live on a mere $1.9 million a year salary and that pitance of the likely $500K his wife is pulling in at Banyan.  Imagine the salary and bonus increases they'll be awarded by their so call independent compensation review board next year if / when VG has ...more

HB, your considerable talents are wasted on this company.  As I said before, the company should be compensating you for your efforts. It's easy for me to take flyby potshots at the company now that I no longer have a vested interest. I do sincerely wish that your investment in this company eventually pays off.  Because of its higher than industry average AISC costs, it does have ...more

Thanks MVargas, but I'm not looking for a job.   Retired about 4 years ago and am happy to just do investments which is a passion for me (I love this stuff).  I worked for 42 years and had I known I could make more money stock trading / investing than I did working (and I had a good over 6 figure job) I would have retired earlier! When I was working the guys at work nick named ...more

Sorry to rain on the knives parade but as much as it could be show me mode, it could also be rest after a massive jump mode.

H7.....don't be so rational.  Still.....no bulletin on private placement?  Where is Tsx on this?  Salaries are out of whack.  Options are better way to incentive.  This is what worries me about Brewery Creek and Byn.  Job extenders?  T minus 90+ days until I hang my spurs up.  I have 2 large rambunctious German shepherds to feed.  Sold some.  ...more

Seems like a little delay on the production number. Building anticipation or slow rolling bad news? They put it out Oct 4th after Q3 last year.
