Some Food for thought Top Five CEOs

1. Mike Rose TOU, 2 Steve Laut CNQ, 3. Mick Dilger, PPL, 4. GrantcFagerheim, WCP 5. Dave Maddison Blackswan Honorable mention Jim Riddell Alex Poubaix CVE Please weigh in guys. Where would you put MLP? All of these guys have grown one or more Companies. This post is for fun. Imagine if we had a guy who could lead an aggressive m and a effort without being blinded by a singular focus one on project, albeit a very excellent one.

Im far out of league to comment on this retiredguy, but I'll go with Mike Rose as the best of em. What he's done with TOU given their a dry gasser, and given so many other dry gas producers have been decimated in the last 10 or so years (bonavista, perpetual are the few I can think of), it's envious. I wish I could have afforded some TOU shares last year but alas...they didn't come ...more

Robertboblaw , I'm not trying to be a smartass but let me explain something to you . In March , TOU was pushed to a low of $6.73 , today it hit $21.00 which equates to a 3.12 fold increase . VII on the other hand went as low as $1.15 and is presently $7.00 , that my friend is a 6 fold increase . TOU may get more press but believe me , the smart money was riding VII all the way to the bank .

Yeah top, so far. You're right...so far... We'll see what the future brings...

I would rate it like this, which CEO are most aligned with the share holders and most aligned in terms of having skin in the game that was not all handed to them. Or who just happens to be managing a faimly fortune,  So i would pick two, but they are quite different but the same.  Jim Riddell POU and Mike Rose TOU Both companies are best of breed, and both poised to do great things ...more

Ill throw my two cents worth in, My vote would be for Neil Roszell founder of Raging River and Wild Stream Ex. He is presently CEO of Headwater Ex, who recently entered into a strategic partnership with Cenovus in Marten Hills.

Again Robert , I am only tossing this out for discusion but from here , today going forward which do you see happening first ? TOU hitting $30/share or VII hitting $10.50/share ?

Yes top, as a speculative investment, a few years from now, VII may very well end up being the more lucrative bet. Im not arguing with that. I'm invested too amigo. The question asked by retiredguy was who is the better CEO; admitadley I know sweet FA about the mgmt of VII, but based on what I know and have heard about Mr. Rose, he's likely the guy you want steering the ship. No offence to ...more

I do believe that Mike Rose is definitely one of the best, what i like is that he has created a Royality company that allow him to move assets from TOU to Topaz and get a much higher evaluation.  In the last quater he used royality spin offs from new acquired assets to finance the purchases of new company and make his 2021 targets without trying.  However don't forget this ...more

Your still harping on about POU? By the way, its QUARTER not QUATER. I dont think POU is even in the same league as Tourmaline either.
Comment by Robertboblaw on Jan 18, 2021 3:10pm
I think he knows the difference. Obviously a spelling mistake. C'mon guy

I wish I had a better response for you retired but I really don't know where to put Proctor but on this metric I think he has done fairly good . As I see the figures , while revenue dropped , EPS rose and anyone who can pull that rabbit out of the hat deserves at least one attaboy .  This is straying from the exercise at hand but I concentrate more on the liquids to gas ratio and VII' ...more
