RE:RE:RE:RE:Valeura Updates Production Testing Progress (Test #4) at theNot surprisingly this is the point where the objectives of STO and VLE diverge a little on this well. STO and VLE met their main objective of testing a portion of the net pay to validate net pay determinations and the reservoirs response to slick water fracking. STO is satisfied at this point and aren’t really interested in the production but VLE is. VLE would like to finish cleaning up the well and see how the well responds to a longer test to prepare for tie in and production. I can’t say for sure what the limitation is but I suspect it might be with liquids (condensate and remaining load fluid) up the 5 1/2” casing. If they open the well up to get the liquids to move up the wellbore with enough velocity it could overwhelm the test separator (if it wasn’t sized for that volume of liquids) and if they hold the pressure back on the well to not overload the separator with liquid then it makes it tough for the well to lift the liquids particularly because the well wasn’t fracked to the extent that a normal development well would be. The solution may be to install tubing (smaller diameter thus more velocity) but it appears that they are going to give it a go and see if the well can keep flowing within the limits of the inlet separator while hoping the well will be able to lift the liquids. If it works great if not install tubing later on.
Just a theory.......
