Why don't you think they'd ever sell?  This is heading into the third generation and the family isn't deriving significant economic benefit from their ownership as things currently stand. They have some board seats and one family member working in the business but it's not as if this thing is paying out a ton of dividends. 

The only reason to keep it would be for legacy and employment purposes, but there aren't a bunch family members working in the business. You would also think much of their personal net worths are tied up in company stock.

I think there's going to be pressure to sell from within the family and the time to do it is now, not after the control has been passed to the next generation when there will be  presumably more people with a voice, which will complicate the situation further
