Main products are sold as active pharmaceutical ingredients, animal feed additives, specialized chemicals, commercial grade metals, alloys, and engineered powders.

The Globe and Mail identifies small capitalization companies generating good profits in its Wednesday, Dec. 16, edition. The Globe's Allan Robinson writes in the Number Cruncher column that earnings per share can be distorted by items such as amortization and depreciation. Investors should consider calculations such as return on capital, which measures how well a company generates cash flow relative to the capital it has invested in the business. In this item Mr. Robinson adds back accumulated depreciation to net fixed assets to get gross fixed assets, which is the original amount of the investment. From this, Mr. Robinson derives a cash-on-cash return on capital. Most return on capital calculations are based on shareholders equity and debt. Here, Mr. Robinson sizes up a company's ability to generate a return on invested capital, or what can be described as the true economics of a business.
