Crooked management also plays games. All the longs certainly remember the AGM where they filled the seats at the meeting with staff and locked out reporters when Cation forced a vote for some new blood on the board. Longs were led to believe things would change under Bryska. Only thing that did was a 90% reduction in the share price, cancellation of dividend and more compensation for staff and ...more

There was a polite question about shareholder returns.  Nothing crazy.  The entire Q&A was a little boring - and boring is good.  In my view, despite what you read here, most investors are satisfied with such a successful quarter.  And for those concerned about the hedging impairment, just remember that most of those hedges are not going to be a factor going foward.  ...more

The skinny on hedges . . . When oil price is rising, hedging gets a black eye When oil is falling hedges are king. Capex, interest on debt, salaries all drive the amount of production that is usually hedged as it provides a guaranteed floor income. Flying without hedging is like flying without insurance.
