RE:RE:RE:WOW !! Refineries Are Putting JET FUEL In The DIESEL Pool ! My oil trader associates test for these things with every cargo. While refineries will blend production to remain within specs, buyers pay less for product that is near the "top (or bottom) of the band". Testing reveals when product is blended, and less is paid because buyers are aware that the blending is an effort to unload unsaleable product (sometimes contaminated), giving them bargaining power. The same thing happened months back with contaminated Russian crude, which, even after blending to remain within specs, still sold at a big discount.

RE:WOW !! Refineries Are Putting JET FUEL In The DIESEL Pool ! That works provided that diesel specs aren't exceeded, but the resulting blended fuel is of a lower quality (for diesel engines) and more polluting.

You think MULTI-BILLION refineries are going to be caught selling INFERIOR diesel !!!??????????!!!
Of course NOT, the refineries will ADD the LUBRICATING OILS missing in the jet fuel {KEROSENE} that is present in diesel and DILUTE the diesel with jet fuel WITHOUT COMPRIMISING the MINIMUM diesel standards !!!
The lubricating oils are a MUST in MODERN diesel INJECTORS to PREVENT damage but are NOT necessary for the OLDER diesel injectors !!!
Jet fuel burns MUCH CLEANER {at a much HIGHER temperature} than diesel (a way LOT LESS SOOT - black smoke) but is POLLUTING in the sense that it contains a MUCH HIGHER SULFUR content than your modern Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) !!!
Since diesel has MANY MORE HIGHER COMPLEX hydrocarbon molecules than jet fuel, diesel packs MORE ENERGY per unit volume than jet fuel so that you will get BETTER MILEAGE than jet fuel !!!
Home heating oil is a VERY CLOSE substitute to diesel !!!
This is my opinion only.
