This is a perpetual loser

have been in this trainwreck for a number of years (yes when it was in the $30+ area) and lost money on it a couple of times.
keep believing that "you cant go wrong at $5 per share" and guess what?

No matter what happens to the price of oil CPG goes down.  Price of oil goes up, CPG goes down;
price of n gamblinggoes down, CPG goes down, oil price stays same, CPG goes down.

As for management etc., dont give a rats asse as to what they have done in past lives..what matters is that they cannot deliver. Full stop.

Oh yes, cute dividend that they keep paying out.  Sorry excuse for an oil producer.

Time to bring this pig and turnn it into bacon and get out of oils in general.

Yes sour grapes but watching retirement money going down the toilet is not fun- heck its not even gamlbing as this is a sure bet loser.

So why waste your time on this board ? If you think it is not worth the share price then sell short and if you believe in the stock then buy it. Quit your whining ! Same with bmw whaaaat ? If you guys want us to short it then give a reason ! Maybe we will join you. But for the love of god , the racial comments the criticizing management , the acting like a 5 year old is quite comical. Keep posting ...more

Yup lash I've been saying the same thing for months.. I've lost money on Lightstream in the past due to dirty bankers and F'd up management and got screwed royaly, but didn't droan on about it for weeks and months on end.. licks my wounds and made the loss back and then some.. my call is for a divi increase 3rd or 4th quarter this year and I'm sticking to it.. ;-)

Finally, some reasonable comments on this board. Thank you Moemoney & Lash99. I completely understand that some folks lost money on CPG stock (as did anyone who had invested in Canadian E&P plays in the last several years). If you don't believe in the management or you don't like the company otherwise, then sell your shares or short it. But there's no point in droning on and ...more

Highalpha.. I'm not sure if you have had a chance to read the latest seeking alpha report on CPG in the last day or so, but it's worth the read, and comments on how Q2 may come in a bit short on profitability due to the costs of integrating the Shell assets.. but the author feels confident (and so do I) that the buy was strategic, well timed, and at a good price to compliment CPG's ...more

@Moemoney: I absolutely read the article on Seeking Alpha. In fact, I posted the entire article (without the visuals) on this board at 3:42pm today (see the forum below). As the article is behind a paywall, I thought that the real investors of CPG should see what the empirical data about the company is showing. You're also right about WCP -- and the same is true if you look at the stock price ...more

I totally agree.  CPG's time is coming , it's a great stock for the day traders , it's safe and it's in good shape . Going green will eventually be an issue but there are a lot smarter people than me that know the ins and outs of this issue. But with over 7  billion people on the planet and battery issues on the new vehicles it will be some time before they figure this ...more

============ wow you come on here and call anyone who has bought stocks at double digits a BAG HOLDER...that is a mature comment?  wow .. you are now the #1 stock picker and now add a spelling and grammer teacher .. wow... look kid .... you think just because like a blind squirrel you found a $5 CPG nut and everyone else is  a bag holder? wow I still own shares at 88 cents so I guess you ...more

Thanks Mr Moemoney , Yup me too regarding Lightstream but I got lucky and the losses were minimal. We are entering a new stage re oil. Yes there will be fluctuations but that is what the day traders like. I can't trade the +|- .30 in a day , I just dont have the time. The new management team , imho are doing a great job ! The debt is under control and we have a much better asset re the Shell ...more

my call is for a divi increase 3rd or 4th quarter this year and I'm sticking to it.. ;-) I hope you are right!  Long time holder.. Cost averaged down as far as I can afford to ~$7 -

Hang in there Gorbon.. you'll be able to break even possibly this year.. next year for sure in my books.. ;-)
Comment by highalpha1 on May 31, 2021 11:15am
@Gorbon: CPG based on current WTI price is substantially undervalued, evern relative to other E&P companies, as it is trading at a ~2.5x multiple. There is meaningful upside in the stock price from here IMO, and you should be able to breakeven should crude prices hold.  I agree with you that we will likely see a dividend hike later this year. Good luck.
Comment by Gorbon on May 31, 2021 4:17pm
So do you think I should sell some when I reach parity (1/3 or 1/4 or some such) or just hang on with it all?
Comment by highalpha1 on May 31, 2021 4:47pm
@Garbon: I am not sure if you were asking me, but in case you were, I'll add my two cents. Whether you sell your total or partial position in CPG once you breakeven at $7 would be dependent on your individual circumstances. I don't think you should have a massive position in this stock (or any energy or gas company) the loss of these investment funds would have a meaningfully detrimental ...more

Thanks for the detailed response! I will start trimming at 7 but yet to decide just how much, circumstances will tell ;)
