@Bpultra: Of course they were granted rights. It's part of their compensation scheme and is given on a quarterly basis. They will be granted rights again in September and then in December. I am not saying it's right or wrong -- but it's expected if you have a look at how their compensation is structured.

"really interesting ... they also promised to start the NCIB... last year." Maybe this can explain and accurately detail the "promise" of the NCIB last year.. quote from their financials.. Normal Course Issuer Bid In January 2020, the Company purchased and cancelled 2.2 million common shares for total consideration of $12.7 million. The total cost paid, including commissions ...more

@Bpultra: I share your frustration. If these oil prices last for the new few weeks, it would be terrible if they don't announce a dividend hike during Q2 earnings report. To be fair, CPG did execute the previous NCIB (they suspended it once the oil prices tanked last March). Btw: I don't know how you manage to day trade. After reading some of your comments, I have followed suit by buying ...more

Here is one such trade... bought 2000 shares of CPG at 5.48 .. was going to keep them for a bit of a ride... but sold them at 5.55 because I was able to be 1000 reco at  11.59 .. will see when I dump those and depends if CPG takes another dump .. but that little swing trade nets about $500 bucks .. remember you can always CPG cheaper than when you sold it.. @Bpultra: Well done! Do you hold a core position in CPG or are you trading all you shares? I do not trade my core position, but I have been buying and selling a much smaller position. The shares I bought on Friday for C$5.50 I did unload today at $5.59. Made a few shekels on that trade. But day trading is not for me. When I saw the share price dip into the $5.30s this morning, I thought I would ...more

I hold a pretty hefty core position on both....  I will trade 2000 --3000-- and even 5000 blocks ...  I kept my reco and here is what I think may happen tomorrow AM.... the USA boys will be back.... will probably drive CPG down early and thinking reco may go the other way.. as they closed red today will look at frankfurt to get an idea for the open... then should be able to flip again.. ...more

@Bpultra: Thanks for the explanation. Good luck with your trade tomorrow AM. I have looked at RECO but never invested in it as I couldn't understand the company's numbers well enough. But it is up 20 fold from its 52 week low so whoever did invest in it have surely done well.

So even with this  For the three months ended March 31, 2021, the Company recognized a total unrealized derivative loss of $83.2 million on its commodity contracts compared to an unrealized derivative gain of $258.6 million in the first quarter of 2020. The unrealized derivative loss in the first quarter of 2021 was primarily attributable to crude oil contracts and reflects the increase in ...more
