Whitecap Resources Inc. is an oil-weighted growth company. The Company is engaged in the business of acquiring, developing and holding interests in petroleum and natural gas properties and assets. Its core areas include the West Division and East Division. Its West Division is comprised of three regions: Smoky, Kaybob and Peace River Arch (PRA). The properties in its Smoky region include Kakwa and Resthaven, all located in Northwest Alberta. The primary reservoir being developed is the Montney resource play, mainly comprised of condensate-rich natural gas. Kaybob is located in the Fox Creek region of Northwest Alberta. With all due respect that is wishful thinking. If revenues are greater than budgeted, I expect management to use the extra money to pay down the debt (still over $1,000,000,000) and/or buyback more shares.



Maybe they do and maybe they don't.  Debt will be at about 1 billion at year end which is manageable for the amount of ffo they are producing at 157k barrels. Nothing special about the q but q4 already appears to be better based on the price of wi. They are guiding towards the lower end of expectations for boe and guiding at the higher end of capex. Both numbers are still within guidance. Basically the q was a "push" and although nothing spectacular, they are meeting their targets.
