Court Order Regarding Personal GrowingI'm always surprised when I see people here trying to make an issue out of the court order allowing individuals to continue growing their own marijuana plants. I'm curious, if they're aware that it is legal to grow our own vegetables, hops, grapes, and tobacco too. Seems to me the industries surrounding those plants are doing alright.
So why don't all smokers and imbibers of beer in North America, not to mention ordinary people who plain need to eat, just grow our own plants and maintain self sufficiency?
Because it takes time, effort, space, and investement, the likes of which many people lack either individually or a combination thereof.
This is why the law to allow people to grow their own plants isn't the dramatic "game changer" its been made out to be. Only the marijuana connoisseurs, known by many as potheads, and hardcore users would bother growing enough plants to maintain a ready supply.
As for Charles's claims about no good harvest or sales happening until early 2015 well, applications continue to come in for more patients. The growing cycle inexorably marches on, and only gets bigger with each harvest. He is right in that they currently lack momentum and the share price is sliding as people like himself are becoming disillusioned with the company. I think its easy to forget that they are a cyclical harvest based company which hasn't even been in operation for a year.
Many people underestimated the current size of the medical marijuana market in Canada after seeing the green boom in Colorado; the major distinction between the two of course being the medical and recreational markets.
Like I've said, I'm willing to wait to see where things are going in the long run, 2015 is going to be an interesting year.
