philk33 wrote: I quit smoking cigs.  I can only say this in response to your claims... it will not be as easy as people quitting smoking to start smoking weed.  This should be obvious! Nicotine is highly addictive... quitting is the hardest thing some people will do in their lifetime!  People who smoke cigs do so at (uneducated guess) an average of 1/2 pack a day.  They smoke on their lunch break and they smoke in their car on their way to and from work.  Employers do not permit alcohol on the job, nor do they permit drugs such as weed!  You won't see people smoking a doob at their lunch break (maybe in their car or behind the big oak tree). You won't see people smoking while they drive to and from work because it is illegal to operate a vehicle while high!  Just wanted to point out that your statement is more than likely uneducated.   Not to say that people will not see this as an opportunity to replace cigs with weed, but that will take a lot of will power, and will power is something the average human does not posesss.  It is certainly optimistic to assume hundreds of millions will give up a highly addictive substance for something that is already extremely readily available to the average person!

Most people do not spend the majority of their ciggie smoking time whilst driving.I never did,I found it far too distracting and it stunk the car out. I have NEVER smoked weed....because its illegal. Some people don't give a toss about the law....but the MAJORITY do.

Your point about ciggies being addictive and weed not....EXACTLY!!!

You think the population and their habits are static? Of course not....and weed has never been as widely available as ciggies.People will more likely start their smoking journey with weed, rather than with ciggies when rec.becomes legal....why because people are more health conscious.People are quitting smoking every day,for ONLY HEALTH reasons....guess what they will MOST LIKELY have as substitutes?

Employers not only don't permit alcahol on the job, they also don't permit smoking in buildingsnor near entrances to buildings.

You should think before you post.
