RE:Major Ice Storm and GreenhousesStop fear mongering under the guise of intelligence you @$$.
Your question is the equivalent of asking if houses in Canada can withstand snow load. Do you think they'd build a structure that can't take an environmental condition we face annually?

I was watching ABC news this morning, and they switched momentarily to the local weather forecast for Buffalo, where they said they were expecting a major ice storm to begin tomorrow that could coat things in up to 1/2 inch of freezing rain.
Usually when we get freezing rain it's only a thin coat, and it's only a driving issue, but with that kind of thickness, the sheer weight of the ice becomes the biggest issue. I think back to the Quebec ice storm, where the weight was enough to topple major power lines like twigs.
So the question is this. Is a half inch of freezing rain a threat to the Farm which is only 20km from Buffalo? Can typical greenhouses withstand that kind of weight? There's a LOT of square footage there. Thanks for weighing in...pardon the pun.
