RE:jmho

RE:jmhoAgree with your premise geo but neither side of the 49th has balance in the industry today? Canopy is to large for Canada but that is by design, it was never intended to be a 'cottgage industry' it was always built for the US market and beyond. Some may have planned differently but to small or for other reasons could not get the venture to generate revenues that would allow for survival, on their own?

Klein and Constellation could see the advantage of investing here and making expansion out of the gate stateside as seamless as possible, with the most efficient path to sustainable profitability and when legal operations are permitted by law they are ready to hit the ground running...and they have done a fine job, but it is not the same US today so the game has changed. Hard to say how much but they won't know now for a while as the Biden/ Obama US today is a totally different  place than what it was 3yrs ago.

Klein and team have set up a top self network with Acreage, Terrascend, Wana, et al...Martha well positioned in the CBD area, of which is growing globally and they will be off shore much more as soon as they can get a hold of their country again, like far too many others.

The main issue is government buy in and support on the med side, to start, for the necessary inspection/ management programs required for a legal cannabis industry for the country...piecemeal is far to kind, as the politicians are out of control across the board? Biden/ Obama are partnered with the cartels and have created a mess of epic proportions and have no control of the country, it's borders or the illegal drugs, so anything can happen from here!! They need elections soon and going forward but they may not make it through the year or two now without  major changes and some genuine 'for the people, by the people', of which can and will only be found in books if they continue on the path they are on today. 'State control' and socialism is the solution for anything but bad for all....and coin for government and cartels with 'for the people, by the people' to be found only in books.

A Government/ cartel run 'drug and human trade' will never work, at least not for the folks, the deserving of which we are a long ways from today. At least there is hope that there will be change, but will it be what we need/ want? If so the cannabis industry is a valuable asset in development, so far and Canopy is ahead of the curve and will be ready for major growth, as long as the country and the folks remain free and lead into the future. The government will provide the services required and mandated by the folks, as civil servants do. All as the universe unfods as it should. JMHO...Opt

In the beginning it was more of a necessity to be vertically stacked such that you had a tail to snout, grow to consumer, chain but that got overdone to the point that there are too many competing and too much product available.

I like the big guys for being the last standing when this all sorts itself out.  LPs and MSOs that have bought common business sense to the pot and hemp industry that they learned elsewhere.

Despite the time launched, this is still a relatively new business that has to go through growing pains and a lot of lobbying and government interference that requires good lobbying by potpreneurs to educate the government as to what they need by way of legislation and rules that will allow this to work.

Politicians are fearful so moving slow to see how this is going to work out.

Canadian LPs dumping out of Canada should send a huge message to the politiicians and businesspeople that they need some serious attention.

Stateside, the greenrush is showing promise for the MSOs but politicians have created a minefield instead of a playing field because they are using this as a political plum despite the will of the voters.

The players with the biggest bank account and a feasible business plan or the ability to continue to raise money to build support from lobbying for the greenrush to hit full potential are going to be standing in the winner's circle and about 95% of the rest are going to be fodder for the big guys.

The US is more likely to hear the industry and they are great marketers of products and cannabinoids shouldn't be any different plus by population alone they have much more potential for revenue for these start-up potpreneurs.

If the US gets it together and does this well they will launch a greenrush that the world will never see again and if they don't, it will still get there one State at a time, sans the greenrush, I fear!
