RE: RE: RE: RE: Unusual trading today...........Sandheads you know what happens to a fat dog who brags about his full food dish? the scrawny dogs beat him and eat his food. . . .while the analogy isn't perfect, why would brookfield need to ramp up share price? if they do the reverse split you're talking about the further concentrate ownership of equity. . .IN A COMPANY THEY ALREADY OWN OUTRIGHT, THEY CONTROL ALL CASH FLOW, ALL OPERATIONS, ETC. . . .
I find it difficult to understand potential motivation for ramping up share price for institutions. . .A. Instiutions like "high risk" situations like Western about as much as my ex old lady liked saying please/thank you (not much) B. Typically a company ramps up share price because they need to borrow more (support expansion, etc.) from the market, etc. Western does not fit either of these scenarios; what will most likely happen (is happening) is Western will be made a cash flow positive company, Brookfield will operate it for a few years while catering to potential suitors for a friendly sale - I reckon myself it will be sold to an Asian/Pan Pacific conglomerate who will likely already have an equity position. The SP is going to rise because many other savvy traders recognize this, are familiar with the Brookfield model of business (check US Steel purchase of Hamilton Ontario steel mills a few years back) and want a position now. . .
Again, taking this company private in British Columbia today is preposterous - and sandheads, you don't dress her up pretty, get her to the dance and then decide you wanna take her home. . .they could've taken this private 18months ago for half the price and twice the convincing argument because the economy was worse. . . .
