Vancouver Port Strike and Lumber Futures

Vancouver Port Strike and Lumber FuturesThanks for the insightful comments regarding WEF's ability to export lumber from Vancouver Island.  I believe the current quarter will be a decent one especially considering the significant appreciation of the US dollar relative to  CAD and given relaively stable cash prices for lumber over the last few weeks.  As for lumber futures, I'm also confused by their downturn especially given the uptick in residential construction permits in the US during the month of February.  China has also recently made public statements about their continued commitment to their massive urbanzation program so I don't see demand there decreasing significantly either.  An interesting trade might actually be purchasing lumber futures at these levels IMHO. As for WEF, I continue to be long and intend on being so until the lumber super cycle becomes a full-blown reality in the next 12 to 18 months.  Happy investing everyone!
