RE:Disappointing to see no news relase Ladysmith.
In the Ladysmith Chronicle for January 27, the front page had a report on the Ladysmith mill reopening.  Unfortunately it can only be read by subscribers, but I will give a brief review from the paper.
The mill reopened on January 19 with full capacity and reopened due to having received new orders for lumber from China.  The Chinese market still remains challenging, said Amy Spencer.  The products that came out of that mill are primarily for the Chinese market, but we were able to secure a two month order file, which means we were able to bring everyone back to work, and it will go on, of course, beyond two months, that was just sort of the impetus to get it started up.
The mill produces what is called commodity lumber, such as the two by fours and are primarily sold to China.
The WFP Saltair Sawmill, just south of Ladysmith, was not affected by the shutdown.
