RE:Cause of SP downward pressure I don't agree. As an investor in my top 5 of dozens of DD points I look at is dilution. Maybe even #3 point. On many investors analysts sites its in the first paragraph of statistics. It's also the only number that matters when it comes to P/e and p/s etc because it distorts those ratios and ultimately the sp. Take an airline for instance.AAL was 29$ stock right before the crash. So looking at 29$ As a number the stock needs to get back to after the crash as a sell point for a trader,but they added around 300 million shares so it's actually a 45$ Or a16$ stock adjusted now. Very important to do the calculation because it's one of the only numbers doesn't have an ratio calculation done for you. It's part of p/e etc but unless you dig into it P/e or p/s changes can be very misleading.(can be $45 if you use old sp and add the % of new shares to 29$. Or 16$ if you use old market cap and divide by new number of shares. Either way you can see it makes a huge difference to stocks perceived value.)
