what do you mean. so far he has been on point. can't be bearish on lumber rn. just can't.

Not bearish on lumber/OSB at all. Riding the wave right now...but RJ has WFG at $145 in 12 months. Sorry not going to happen. Consensus is $110+. I've seen RJ miss many times. Just saying....GLTA.

I think $145 is actually kinda low for a 12 month target.  $145 is my 2 month target and $200 is my 6 month target.  I know that is aggressive but here's why I think so.... With $12.27 earnings for 2020 and current $102 share price that puts us on a P/E of 8.  Q1 2020 earnings were 0.42 last year...  Q1 2021 earnings are going to be reported in 2 weeks and should be 4 ...more

Great post Frosty, If i may and for what it's worth,EPS estimate for Q1 on Yahoo is $6.76. 30 days ago, they were at $5.82 and 90 days ago at $2.01 Just like you, i could be wrong but once we get to the $120-$140 i may have to revised my target if the fondamentals stays the same. All of this existing home buying frenzy may scare some thinking that the house market will crash but i am not in ...more

I'm gonna be a realist for a second and agree with dad I think 145$ is a little bold for 12 months. Having said that anything is possible, The recent climb could be attributed to BAM not selling but it truly has to do with the price of lumber in my estimate. All lumber stocks are moving higher and that's without the Q1 report as of yet.  Since last week prices continue ...more

I agree with most of what has been said so far.  As well, WFG's pulp side should be a better contributor since there were no major shuts for maintenance and their 3 plywood mills continue to be operating in red hot markets. $140 looks reachable.

Hey Life, I can't see anything from April on the NCIB.  Am I missing something? I don't see any purchases and coincidentally no BAM sales either. I almost wonder if WFG is just directly buying the few million shares BAM has left. Volume has been so low this week also.

I get the BAM sales every saterday on SEDI. Being irrelevant in my views, i may stop tracking their sales. As for the dividend.I couldn't care less.If i wanted a regular stream of revenu, i would have bought a bank , pipeline or other utility. WFG is at an all time high and i truly beleive that we are only at the start of a supercycle that will create huge wealth for patient ...more

I think were all on mostly the same page, love being near debt free with windfall earnings coming for at least the medium term, just hate when some other paper holders get the win when bought out as the cycle kicks up, can't say I've been this pumped to see quarterly earnings across banks, energy and especially here with wfg/osb, I think this quarters numbers are going to turn heads as it ...more

great summary frost, while I enjoy the debt completion as a long term norboard holder I kind of liked the special dividends and consistant share of income, I love the prospects of the newly formed wfg/osb but not if were going to use our clean balance sheet to overpay for another competitor while commodities are at all time highs, I'd rather see how much this combo can make on its own with ...more

Hey Walleyewarrior, Dad has also mentioned it a few times and I get what your points are. I want a higher regular div and special divs were always great to receive. Sharing the wealth with shareholders is always nice to see. Having said that I do believe eliminating Norbords debt was the right move to make right now. Everyday that lumber/osb stay at all time highs is another day of printing money ...more
