West Fraser Increases Quarterly Dividend

VANCOUVER, BCJune 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ - West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. ("West Fraser" or the "Company") (TSX andNYSE: WFG) has declared a quarterly dividend of US$0.32 per share on the Common shares and Class B Common shares in the capital of the Company, payable on July 12, 2024 to shareholders of record on June 26, 2024. The quarterly dividend has been increased from the prior US$0.30 per share in light of the share count reduction resulting from execution of recent normal course issuer bids.

Why do they even bother increasing the dividend 2 cents? They're essentially paying out another $6.5 million USD per year to its shareholders (82mm x 0.02 x 4). For a company with a market cap of $6.5 billion USD, this is meaningless. It doesn't signal anything.
