Going to pandemic lowsI hate being right about this but there is no bottom for this stock. For the deniers out there the reality is the only way up now is (1) to see some kind of commitment from management in the form of buying stock at these levels, or (2) . The market simply does not believe in the business plan or the results. Eric left far too many questions unanswered on the last earnings call and there is an orderly exit happening. Unfortunately they are running this public company as if it were privately held. Shareholders are paying the price for that over the last few weeks. Eric needs to do a better job of communicating the following:
1) Spark CPMs. The numbers are far too volitile and have fallen below pre-covid levels. There is simply no explaination from Wild about why this has happened and what the business plan is for Spark
2) Q4 shorfall. Eric left sooo many questions regarding the Q4 numbers. Yes, Q3 was impressive, but if the market is forward looking and there is simply too many questions right now about what the forward looks like. Confirming 2022 guidance leaves the market believing Wildbrain is expereincing a slowdown. Eric needs to correct this impression.
Yes, the market is down. Yew, there is little liquidity out there. However, the CEO should have a better handle on the above issues.
On another note, HMTV (a Fine Capital holding) just agreed to be taken private. Fine had accumulated a significant position at a higher price to the take private amount. I will not be surprized that Wild will have the same outcome in the near future.
