Joined the partyMy wife & I are retirees living off dividend income and my CPP & OAS. We were holders of NVU.UN which got a take-over offer this morning. One of my investing rules is to sell immediately when an offer is received. This has worked both ways for us over the years.
Anyway. we sold our 3200 shares at $36.48 so got a chunk of dough. I had always hesitated on WIR.U because of the US$. I stumbled on WIR.UN and realized this Cdn$ listing was quite new. I also caught up on this bullboard.
Anyway, we just bought an initital position of 2000 shares of WIR.UN at $19.21. I wouldn't have done this with the Cdn$ option so this is a small example of the dual listing working.
I'll be watching and evaluating bumping up our position in the next months.
