look at BHP, Jansen Project, Thats on hold. they bought Anglo Potash and Atahbasca potash. How much did they pay to buy these 2 companies out.  the end result, they are sleeping on it.  BHP spent 1.2Billion on Jansen, still not close to 10billion total cost.
