I found the comment from NovaScotia bank somewhat interesting. I think this board has a long time been eluding to the same thing.  Only thing I wonder is if we are actually in contact with other majors? Someone with a bit more knowledge maybe could help and enlighten me; if we are in serious contact with other majors is the comapny allowed to disclose this or does the major usually want to ...more

I believe in a recent interview Paul's has said that there are ongoing discussions with other majors. He did not say who or how far along they've gotten.

Again, we have to understand opportunistic bids = lowball bids. The author is telling investors such as ourselves to have some backbone in negotiating, but  IMO our leverage is much weaker than others here believe; only a handful of companies can build Casino and if they all balk at our asking price. Up the creek w no paddle. I don't think we're having serious ...more

I sure hope our decision makers are reasonable!!! for example a $4 usd offer is equivalent to $6 usd if Rio is down 33%.... yep...there u have it Sooner hedging his bets!!!!
Comment by jclarke042 on Sep 07, 2022 9:20am
I don't care about the price anymore, Paul, just get it done.

sooner, why is Dale decision maker? Originally. I don't know how much Dale own shares from coppertion ppt. Once i know that his family has 30+% shares(from one interview of Paul, if i am wrong correct me). And other big holders HNW guys are his friends, so they have much much ownership in company. As you guys said. The basic asking price range had been negotiated between Dale and Rio before ...more

I think Dale is around 3% or so of outstanding shares...who knows how many other shareholders are his "friends" and would vote same as him.... but he is not an executive, he's. It on the board , and so he would be a shareholder just like you and I from what gets brought forward to vote on! for all you that worship Dale ....spare me...yes I know he owns 10 times the amount of shares ...more

from western presentation: top share holders (rio+management+board+institute)only have around 25% shares. But from one old interview of Paul, I got another number shares of "Dale family". It is bigger than 3%. Forgive me that I can't remember clearly. Or you can send email to Paul for exact number.

I'll ask Sandy/Paul - last time I asked about Dales comment after the Rio announcement that he stated emphatically that they had very little DD left and he didn't think it would take nearly 18 months for this to get completed with an offer from Rio for entire company...I didn't get any feedback from them on that rather unreasonable comment from Dale.... I will straight up ask Paul ...more

I am still hoping for an all stick deal with a decent RIO:WRN Ratio of around 1:10ish.
Comment by Sooner on Sep 07, 2022 7:08pm
I'm even good with 1:15....and definitely prefer share option of course. Considering Rio down 33%....
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Sep 07, 2022 8:43pm
Gee whiz Sooner, now the bar has been halved to only $3?  At what point does it even make sense to continue to hold the shares........in your wolrd view at least? If you set the bar any lower, you're basically a day-trader, flipper at that point!!
Comment by Sooner on Sep 08, 2022 6:40am
My point is you are unreasonable if you believe any offer in todays environment will be like it was if Rio trading at $90 and WRN trading at $2.8 usd like we were at the recent highs. Agree - perhaps in 5 years when everything is back at peak it's a different story...I personally don't think it will drag out 5 years before WRN finally gives up on the dream of a multi billion offer.....
Comment by Heywood_Silvers on Sep 08, 2022 1:14pm
I hear 'ya Sooner......it is a dream:  "build it and they will come".  Well, we are building that multi-million ounce behemoth and pushing forward towards permitting, etc.  We're building it, so we can dream about our multi-billion payoff!! We'll see a tidy re-rate in the price of gold in the interim.  The stars will align, I"m not worried nor do I ...more
