Why build new mines?

When you can just buy existing ones?

Newmont offers $16.8b US for Newcrest:

Think of the number of people involved at both companies during due diligence and nothing leaked to the street. Not sure how they can pull that off. Also demonstrates that something similar could be happening at WRN with Rio or someone else and we wouldn't know.

until we get word of an OFFICIAL second party involved and interested....we aren't going anywhere near the levels even Sooner wants ($6usd). All this inuendo from Paul about others interested and proceeding nicely ain't worth didly squat to our market cap until we get somethinig official.  Everyone knows WRN and Rio negotiating...and it still isn't doing anything to our market ...more

Sooner, after the market crashes, the penny flippers will be happy for half of your $4. This investmment isn't for everyone.  Rome wasn't built in a day, but many impatient ones are hoping it will be. Check back after gold sets a new all time high and the fear trade heats up.  In the meantime, poke around your wish list, there's sure to be some tidy bargains as capitulation ...more

Paul didn't come right out and say it but he strongly implied that they were talking to another prospective buyer. Not sure if he was bullsh*ting or not.

He knows that that is the only thing that will move the SP.

We have to assume BS'ing, or to put it more charitably, that he's putting on a poker face while Rio dithers. They have all year, no reason to think they won't use all that time. Right? We've gone from "next steps are under discussion," to "if we haven't started negotiating by then (November), we've done something wrong." IMO, equal chance Rio asks for ...more

Two week extension granted.  Where did you even come up with "indefinite"?
Comment by jclarke042 on Feb 07, 2023 11:32am
Click on the most recent document upload, from yesterday. Asking for a 4 month extension with the possibility for more. Have a look.

Incheck nearly every day and did not see that document uploaded.  I now see the request.  This does not mean it will be approved at all let alone with the requested timeframe.  It's really a bunch of legalese saying that we don't have sufficient timeframe to generate input.  A potential argument against such is that the project is not new, has been much further in the ...more

No, doesn't mean they'll agree to all or partial. My thought is entering permitting alone significantly increases the chance any major will say "well, let them get through permitting first," which I don't see as a positive for current shareholders.  Our issue is markets think no one will build it, not that it won't be permitted.
Comment by MetalMinded on Feb 07, 2023 3:32pm
I actually don't think a major who wants this wants it permitted. They'll have their own idea of the actual structures and design they will want permitted. They won't want what WRN has designed across the board probably.  Also, there is metal in the ground and profits to be made.  So, someone (read several who can afford the capital) will want it.  They will want certain ...more

Very true. Think if for example Newmont wanted it. They would incorporate Coffee into its design. The final design should be done by the company that will operate it. Not that I know anything about the design of a mine!!

I agree, "Think if for example Newmont wanted it. They would incorporate Coffee into its design." Casino will open up other interest,  Newmont being just one of them. IMO M2
