Is Gold Field a possible bidder?

I dont have to much knowledge on which majors might be intrested in buying WRN, but would Gold Field be a possible suitor looking at the project? I will link an article I saw.

https://www.mining.com/web/gold-fields-not-pursuing-big-ma-deals-after-yamana-disappointment/?utm_source=Precous_Metals_Digest&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MNG-DIGESTS&utm_content=gold-fields-not-pursuing-big-ma-deals-after-yamana-disappointment

Some quotes from the article as food for thought...

Gold Fields chief financial officer Paul Schmidt said the miner would revert to its strategy of picking up development projects and operational mines that fit into its portfolio.

“We continue with our normal way of incrementally adding ounces, maybe the $400-$500 million type of transactions like what we’ve done in Australia,” Schmidt said during the call.

For this last quote I guess WRN might be a bit too big. But would love to hear others thoughts. They do own some copper-gold mines in South America.

$500M usd transaction out of range of WRN???? I don't think so...or at a minimum if we are on their radar and we get a low ball offer from Rio ($2.5 usd) ....then at least we would get up to $3 usd with Gold Fields if they are interested.   Again, i say let the bidding begin!!!! and in order to begin we need a 1st bid ---- from someone....
