Junior Mining Companies Should Never Be Miners

...do the exploration, the leg work, move things along closer to shovel ready... But NEVER, EVER try to mine it if you don't have the expertise or means. Leave that work to the big boys who have the expertise and means to do that. Luckily, we are alongside big boys who have a vested in our project. These juniors who step beyond their means don't make the industry as a whole look good.

Agreed.  It's one of the biggest issues I have with another junior mining investment I have.  The management team keeps talking about that as an option. Their excuse is that the steps from where they are to being permitted are the same if the plan is buyout or going it alone into operational mine.  For junior exploration companies it should always be buyout for the reasons you ...more

You're explaining my reasoning for our lack of leverage here. These juniors "can" build a piddly gold/silver project, but nothing approaching our scale. We have to sell, otherwise Casino doesn't get built.  What happens when we finish permitting at C$400m market cap and offers are for C$500? No body is tripping over themselves to get in here, even at this valuation. A ...more

But, don't forget there is a balance.  We do in fact need them, no doubt.  But they also need metal in ground to mine.  They can't make money without it.  So "they" need us as much as we need them.  The price where our needs balance is TBD but there are plenty of examples out there of a generally accepted ratio of NPV.   I believe Coffee, while ...more
