Worse yet SCQuin, no consequences for illegal operations for the most part. Only the legitimate operators face fines for breaking rules and taxation regardless of an absence of profits. The industry has been orphaned by government ever since the day legalization came into effect. Mj is treated like an unwanted and forgotten child, forced live in the basement and pay rent regardless of their ...more

I belive Auxly is "up to date " on taxes owed.Many are not to the tune of about 220M. This becomes a defacto source of funding for delinquent companies. The govt seems unwilling to collect and this is  grossly unfair. It seems reasonable to ask ...why does the Trudeau govt want the legal industry to fail?

Kitty, can you think of any other consumer goods product that has the market price arbitrarily fixed by government and taxed at that level regardless of the actual cost to the consumer?

You got me, SCQuin. I'm a sucker for a loaded question, I guess. Honestly, I can't think of any other legal product that is taxed at the point of production (excise tax) then taxed through transportation & delivery channels (GST) & Provincial sur-charges and then again at the point of sale by means of a Provincial Sales Tax or Sin Tax or some other contemporaneous BS hierarchical ...more
